Welcome to the website redesign brief.

Every agency should determine its best version of the brief. I hope this one adds a couple of beneficial questions to your discussion with the client and helps build the best project. In terms of Format, Google Forms or alternatives work better than Google Docs/ Word for me, but I was not able to find a way how to copy questions so you could use it as a template, so please use the list below or this google link to build your Forms

25 most important questions to ask

  1. Why do you need a website redesign?
  2. Redesign goals. What results do you want to achieve with the new website?
  3. What is unique about your offer, who is it designed for, and what are its strengths?
  4. What do you like and dislike about your current website?
  5. Add links to your competitors’ websites
  6. Describe what you like and dislike about the competitors’ sites?
  7. What features of your competitors’ sites would you like to see on your site?
  8. Who is the target audience of the site?
  9. What are their problems?
  10. What solutions are you offering?
  11. User needs. What do your visitors want to get from the site?
  12. Give examples of websites that you like (2-5): (Preferably from your business area. Describe why you like them (design, colors, structure, effects, etc.)).
  13. What mood should your website design evoke? List these emotions:
  14. Basic requirements and suggestions for the website design concept (specify everything that, in your opinion, can clarify the design task):
  15. Do you have any brand kit for website, like logos, colors, fonts, style guide?
  16. What should be the user’s path (e.g., they should get as much information about us as possible or get to the target action as quickly as possible)?
  17. Which pages on the website are mandatory? Which ones should be unique and which ones should differ only in content?
  18. Are there any sections/pages of the site that need to be removed?
  19. What functions should be implemented on the home page (e.g., transition to the store, submission of forms, detailed description of services)?
  20. What would you like to see on the main page of the site?
  21. For what screen resolution do you need to develop a desktop design? We recommend going with 1440px instead of 1920px or other alternatives
  22. Provide links to pages important for SEO
  23. Provide list of pages important for Paid Ads and marketing apart from the links above
  24. Provide analytics reports on most visited pages though last year and user journeys if you have
  25. Any important notes from your team?
